Baselworld, the watch and jewellery show, is the event of the year for the watchmaking and jewellery industry. It has evolved into a superlative event and has become an indispensable platform for the latest products and innovations.

About 100,000 people travel to Basel, Switzerland every year to discover novelties and latest collections of the most prominent watch and jewellery brands, such as Bvlgari, Chopard, Boucheron, Breguet, Jacques Droz, Dior, Chanel and many more. The elegant pavilions that resemble actual boutiques were especially designed to accommodate the top brands and convey their luxury and prestige.

Being a spectacular event, Baselworld attracts not only jewellery and watch connoisseurs or people in the industry, but lots of press as well. This year I was among the 3,500 accredited journalists from all over the world who gathered in this Swiss town to cover the most exciting novelties and events.

During the 5 days that I spent in Basel with my fellow blogger Yvonne Town from the gemstandard.com and Maria Kerner from jewelryicon.com hunting for the most striking jewels I discovered and tried on various unique and truly fascinating pieces. The ones featured below belong to my selection of TOP 15 RINGS. I found them special because of their unusual or daring design (Tournaire’s Moscow on my finger, TTF’s fan horse ring, Shawish’s bracelet linked to a ring), fine and rare gemstones (Marco Bicego’s 13 cts green tourmaline, Rodney Rayner’s champagne diamond and Brumani’s combination of frosted and polished gemstones), complex technique (Sicis’ micromosaic jewellery, Marchak’s red spinel below a diamond that gives it an attractive red sparkle) and reflection of the latest trends (Sutra’s three-finger ring and Stephen Webster’s opal ring).

If you share my fascination with the rings featured below please tell me which one you like the most in the comment box after the post.
